Hi! Long time no see, right? I have been away, taking some time to myself and just focusing on my mental health. That’s important, you know! I’ll write about self-care soon! So look forward to that!
Before we get started talking about the best thing about being a writer, I want to let you know that my book will be available on June 6! It’s my very first novel! You can read the first 3 chapters today and pre-order the e-book on Amazon, Google Play, or Books2Read. You can also order paperback or hardback from Barnes & Noble!
So let’s get to it!
To me, being able to learn about writing and characters is the best part about being a writer. Creating characters to go with a story or creating a story to go with the characters. Character creation is like breathing life into fictional beings. Understanding them and their needs, wants, and desires. When I was creating the characters for RTG, it has been such a joy to learn about them based on the situations I place them in. The one who comes to mind is Dion, one of my MCs. Discovering how she reacts to the events that take place in Road to Grimpaitra both in and out of her control was awesome. She feels so real to me because of it. Also, her sister Danica! It has been my pleasure to write them!
But second, learning about writing. I know I was only supposed to write about one best thing, but it’s hard to do. I love finding new ways to express the images and reactions in my head. I always want to write in a clear and concise way. I don’t want the language to be too flowery or too hard to understand because I know when I read books; I don’t like having to go back and read the sentence again because I didn’t understand.

Stay cool, peeps!
