Please enjoy the interview with this outstanding lady:
Let’s get to know you!

Who are you and what meal would you gladly eat forever?
J: I am Jazmine Clarice, a horror movie fanatic, cat mom, authorpreneur, and long time reader! A meal I would gladly eat forever is anything with steak!
If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
J: If I could tell my younger writing self anything, it would be to let the writing flow. Don’t try and force it to blend in. Your writing is meant to be just that – yours. Not all will like it and that’s okay but for the ones it speaks too, those will make everything worth it.
What would you say is the best thing about you?
J: The best thing about me? I think it would be my ability to push forward and adapt to situations. If it calls for discipline, it’ll be a struggle, but I will discipline myself. If I need to take charge, I will take charge to the best of my ability. In many situations, I was able to prove myself wrong and keep moving forward, for that, I am proud of myself and a trait I admire most.
Favorite movie and why?
J: I don’t have a favorite movie but my top 3 would be Dirty Dancing (the one with Patrick Swayze and Baby!), The Lion King, and The Conjuring. A romance movie, a Disney movie, and a horror movie, that just about covers me as a whole!
Let’s get to know your book?
![Sweet Dreams (The Dream Chronicles Book 1) by [J. Clarice]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41UPvH2q4fL.jpg)
Tell us a little about your book and inspiration for it?
J: My inspiration for my writing actually came from a dream I once had in, I believe, 2016. A story about dreams coming from an actual dream. I’ve always loved saying that! My book is nothing like I’d first envisioned it. It’s changed from the time I ever wrote it into existence and I’m not mad about the change. It’s become less about world building and more about the transformation my character goes through. The Dream Chronicles is constantly evolving. It’s about a freshly turned eighteen-year-old that gets thrust into a new world called Ever Realm. She discovers that she’s a part of something more and these realizations require her to do a bit of growing up that she wasn’t ready for.

What message would you like readers to get from your book?
J: The message I’d want readers to get from my book is that growth is uncomfortable, but it is necessary. My main character, Scarlett, has to go through quite a bit of growth in a short amount of time and it’s not a growth full of rainbows and sunshine. She experiences pain and suffering, also known as life. Because without it we wouldn’t know if we’re really living.
Which character was the easiest to write? Who was the most challenging?
J: I think in their own way, all my characters were easy and incredibly challenging to write. I had to capture each one in a way that they didn’t end up resembling each other. At the same time, they’re each an extension of me and I had to find a way to write them as I’d envisioned them in my mind. Not an easy process, but one I truly enjoyed. I will say I have a favorite character, aside from the main character, of course, but side character Jayden won my heart and when you read her story alongside Scarlett’s, maybe you’ll love them too.
